Following the Aberdeen Law Project’s talk on digital crime at the Scottish Guidance Association Annual Conference on 18 September, we caught up with the team to discuss key points addressed during the event.

The Aberdeen Law Project and Police Scotland were invited to present two workshops to raise awareness on issues relating to consent on 20 and 22 September.

Due to the increased accessibility and coverage provided by the internet, the advertisement of ‘Sex for Rent’ is now alarmingly wide-spread. Although the issue has been brought up by the Government, no substantive action towards criminalising the practice has been taken so far, leaving it instead in an uncertain legal position from where it affects more people than ever before.
