The Aberdeen Law Project is delighted to share that it has been nominated for the ‘Community Contribution Award’ in the Scottish Legal Awards 2023.

This year marks the Scottish Legal Awards 20th year in ‘recognising excellence in Scottish law’. The Aberdeen Law Project, which is entirely student run and operated, was nominated for its pro bono legal advice and representation clinics and programme of 15 community outreach initiatives that work to reach people across the North East of Scotland.

The awards ceremony will be held on the 29th of September in Edinburgh.

Emma Jamieson, Student Director, said: “It is extremely exciting for the Aberdeen Law Project to have been nominated for the ‘Community Contribution Award’. Our team work hard to help to reduce the gap in access to justice. Whether it’s providing legal representation, working with local school pupils, or engaging directly with different community organisations and charities, it is fantastic that the work we do has been acknowledged on a national scale!”

Anna Robertson, Chair of the Board of Directors said: “We are delighted to see ALP members shortlisted for all their hard work. Taking ownership for bettering our communities and instilling the importance of listening is a useful tool for all lawyers”.
