Student law clinic recovers four-figure sum for client in the Sheriff Court

The Aberdeen Law Project (“ALP”) is pleased to report that they have successfully secured a four-figure sum for a client through a Simple Procedure application to the Sheriff Court.

Prior to ALP’s engagement in the matter, the client entered into a personal loan agreement with another individual who later failed to repay the client for the loan. Lead adviser Candace Ford and the team at ALP applied to the Sheriff Court on behalf of the client after all attempts to amicably retrieve the sum of money owed were unsuccessful. Candace successfully argued that the loan agreement entitled the client to a full reimbursement and secured a four-figure sum for the client plus court expenses.

The client said: “I would like to thank all contacts I had through the Aberdeen Law Project for their assistance. Candace’s professionalism as my main contact has been exemplary and I wish her well in the future.”

Candace said: “This case has exemplified what the Aberdeen Law Project was created to do and be for those we can assist. Although the process was challenging, I am thrilled with the outcome for the client. This positive result would not have been possible without the time and effort of many hardworking members of ALP. I would like to extend a special thanks to Hannah Bartlett, Catriona Dee, Aidan Urquhart, and Soma Mehmood for all their hard work on this case.”
