The petition calls on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to consider the need for new legislation and provision to protect, support and assist victims of crime.

This petition was suggested by Peter Morris, the brother of Claire Morris, who lost her life at the hands of her husband Malcolm Webster, in 1994. Malcolm Webster was convicted of Claire's murder in May 2011.

The petition aims to demonstrate to the Scottish Parliament that there is widespread support for the introduction of new legislation as regard to the support and assistance offered to the victims of crime and their families.
