The Aberdeen Law Project is awarded a 'Highly Commended' accolade at LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025

The Aberdeen Law Project is delighted to announce that we have received a ‘Highly Commended’ accolade in the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025.

The students who volunteer for The Aberdeen Law Project (“ALP”) work tirelessly to reduce the access to justice problem. Over the preceding twelve months, however, we have had some notable success, such as, introducing new Community Initiatives; assisting over 300 school pupils in Aberdeenshire; and helping vulnerable individuals gain justice over legal disputes.

In recognition of this success, ALP has been granted a ‘Highly Commended’ accolade in the LexisNexis Legal Awards 2025 which was held on 13 March 2025, at the Park Plaza London Riverbank.

We are very pleased to receive this recognition in our efforts to continually bridge the access to justice problem.

Emma Naylor, Deputy Student Director, said:  “The work that the Aberdeen Law Project does to reduce the access to justice problem is vital to Aberdeen. I am so pleased that our efforts being recognised by such a prestigious award.”

Jonathan Blackwood, Deputy Student Director, said: “Being highly commended in this award is an incredible honour for our team. I’ve witnessed first-hand the dedication, passion, and resilience our student volunteers have put into every initiative. This recognition not only validates our efforts but also inspires us to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve in the coming year.”

ALP is grateful for continuing financial support from the University of Aberdeen Development Trust.
