The Aberdeen Law Project is delighted to announce that three new members have joined the Project’s board this autumn.
We are pleased to confirm that Professor Justin Borg-Barthet, the new Head of the School of Law at the University of Aberdeen, and Scott Johnston, a partner at Pinsent Masons, accepted invitations to join the Project’s board in October.
Professor Justin Borg-Barthet said: “I have followed the Aberdeen Law Project's work with interest since its inception. Throughout that time, I have been deeply impressed by our students' determination and ability to empower people and communities by providing routes to access justice. The work has been important, impactful, and inspiring. It is therefore a genuine pleasure and an immense honour to join the Project's board. I look forward to playing a part in supporting this exceptional work.”
Scott Johnston said: “I am delighted to be joining the board of the Aberdeen Law Project, following on from my colleague Roger Connon. The Project is an important and inspiring initiative for students and the public alike. I look forward to contributing to its continued success.”
We are also pleased to welcome back Victorie-Anne Gomez-Llorens, an associate at CMS and a former student director of the Project, who now returns as a member of the Project’s board.
Victorie-Anne Gomez-Llorens said: “It is a privilege to have been invited to join the board. I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that the Project has on both the local community and the students who dedicate their time to its mission. The Project shaped my journey, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute in this new capacity.”
Anna Robertson, Chair of the Project’s board, said: “The Aberdeen Law Project is delighted to welcome Scott, Justin and Victorie-Anne to the board who collectively bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to our Board to help support our student volunteers continue to service the North East of Scotland.”
Separately, we are sad to share that Keith Napier, who retired from the partnership at Raeburn Christie Clark & Wallace in 2015, has now stepped down from the Project after many years of generous service providing invaluable support to our volunteers.
