Aberdeen Law Project nominated for Scottish Legal Award

The Aberdeen Law Project is thrilled to announce its nomination for the ‘Community Contribution Award’ in the Scottish Legal Awards 2024.

Celebrating 21 years of ‘recognising excellence in Scottish law’, the Scottish Legal Awards has acknowledged the Aberdeen Law Project for its commitment to providing pro bono legal advice and representation. The Project’s extensive programme of 15 community outreach initiatives serves individuals and communities across the North-East of Scotland, showcasing the profound impact of student-led legal support.

The awards ceremony is set to take place on the 19th of September in Glasgow.

Soma Mehmood, co-Student Director, said: “We are incredibly grateful for this nomination, which recognises the hard work and dedication of ALP members. Our team is deeply committed to reducing the gap in access to justice, and it's an honour to see our efforts acknowledged in this way. This recognition motivates us to continue promoting pro bono work and improving access to justice for all.

Anna Robertson, Chair of the Board of Directors, said: “This is another reminder that ALP year-on-year manages to evolve to our surroundings and respond to new communities needs.
