The Aberdeen Law Project has appointed Caitlin Hurst as Deputy Student Director.

Caitlin, 20, a third year student, was selected following an internal application and interview process that saw four extremely impressive candidates shortlisted.

Commenting on her appointment, Caitlin said,

“I am delighted to be offered this opportunity. The unique, student-led, structure of ALP formed an influential factor in my choice to study at Aberdeen University. My passion for pro bono legal work has grown exponentially since joining The Project three years ago. Indeed the dedication of our student members, to our projects and the provision of legal assistance, has continued to amaze me. It is my hope that the reach of The Aberdeen Law Project will continue to expand – assisting even more of those who truly need and value our work.”

Anna Robertson, The Aberdeen Law Project’s Student Director, is delighted that Caitlin has been appointed. She said,

“Caitlin brings a wealth of experience to her new role as Deputy Student Director. During her time in ALP she had held the positions of Representation Advisor, Head of Criminal Sector, Sector Advisor and Homelessness Assistance Project member. Caitlin is an approachable, committed and hard working individual. I look forward to working with her as my deputy.”

In line with ALP’s succession strategy, Caitlin will take over from Anna as Student Director in late March 2014.
