Anna Robertson to succeed Margaret Ross as Chair of ALP

The Aberdeen Law Project is pleased to announce that Anna Robertson has been elected as Chair of the Board.

Margaret Ross is stepping down as chair of the Aberdeen Law Project’s (“ALP”) board having retired from the University of Aberdeen’s Law School at the end of August. Anna Robertson, former Student Director of the Aberdeen Law Project and deputy chair for six years, will succeed Margaret effective 1 September. Adam Davies, Chair of the Highlands and Islands Law Project, will serve as deputy chair.

Anna Robertson said: “I know I speak for everyone on the board when I say we would like to wish Margaret every enjoyment in her much-deserved retirement. She has been a tireless champion of ALP and its initiatives throughout the years, providing a fantastic sounding board for all those involved in ALP. After deputising for Margaret, I am conscious of the boots I am going to have to fill but I very much look forward to the challenge.  I truly believe that ALP encapsulates what we can achieve when we come together, listen to our community’s needs and try to build on each other’s collective successes. Our work is rarely easy but always much needed. I very much look forward to supporting our members in the years ahead. I know they will accomplish great things.”

“We are also fortunate to see Adam Davies, an Associate with Greenberg Traurig, elected deputy chair of ALP. Adam has been a board member since 2010 and has been a tremendous asset to the Project and its sister operation in the Highlands and Islands.

Adam Davies, Chair of the Highlands and Islands Law Project and former Supervisor of ALP’s representation team, commented on his new additional position as deputy chair of the board: “It is important that we continue to deliver the best possible service to the clients and stakeholders of ALP. Margaret has been instrumental in shaping ALP, which has had such a positive impact on many in the North East and beyond. I look forward to continuing to work with the students to build upon the fantastic initiatives that are in place within ALP.”
